This thing is awesome. Great for practicing or playing out. For practice, you can just plug your guitar into it and hear yourself with headphones with great effects. You can also plug in an mp3 player or Ipod to play along with any music. Used with an amp it offers adequate effects with uncomplicated settings. It's also a tuner. Make sure you buy a power supply with it or get a universal one as the batteries don't last very long if you're playing more than a set.

I really love this product. I can go camping, bring my electric Guitar walk around while this thing is on my belt. Awesome way to practice your skills. I love the effects too, its not as good as the a real amp tube, but hey for the price I paid for it, its awesome. Battery last forever too.

this POD is really simple to use just as everyone said im sure. theres nothing really negative about it, just maybe cuz it eat up battery pretty fast, prepare to get new battery within a week or two, and the lever for the battery compartment seem really fragile... mine looks like its already breaking off...
Does a lot in a small package

First off, I agree that Line 6 could work on the battery compartment door. It could go on the back of the unit instead of the side; being on the side creates all kinds of problems to conform to the units side radius.
The unit is pricey, but I have also owned a pocket pod that I gave to my brother for his harmonica and guitar playing, and they do the job well, just like this one.
I wanted something really small to change the sound on the guitar or the keyboard, and this unit does what I wanted. As an added bonus, when hooked up to my practice U-Key, it will amplify the volume to whatever amp/speaker you are using. The unit does not have the presets and amp models that the pocket pod or pricier units have, but you can get this on a lot of your combo amps these days and not have to deal with another piece of hardware.
