I've owned this television for about a month now and I am completely and fully satisfied with my purchase.
The video quality of the TV is superb. I have experienced Digital Television with HD programming via just a regular cable connection and the HD programming looked great from FOX (they broadcast at 720p for their sporting events)
I also connected my XBOX360 using an HDMI cable and I must say that the image from a 1080p connection are amazing. Games such as H.A.W.X and Call of Duty World at War look amazing. The Vyper drive actually does work, I was wondering about it at first, but if you're a gamer you can actually tell that there is almost no lag whatsoever in the game display. Usually games such as Guitar Hero have an annoying lag, but not with this TV. Also, watching HD movies through Netflix works great.
The third component that I hooked up my tv with is my computer. I hooked it up using a regular RGB computer monitor cable, and the image is great, the smart stretch feature on the television to stretch the feed to full screen works the best and looks great.
Some people often complain about these televisions speakers, but if you have a receiver or something that you can connect the audio out from the television then this shouldn't really be a problem. I connected my dvd player's speakers to the television just with regular mono cables and it works great.
The Menu's are easy to navigate and setting your preferred video settings is also easy to do. There are also settings for more advanced users (it breaks down the colors to red yellow green cyan blue and magenta) I've never had to tinker with these settings because the picture looked great right out of the box.
If you're wondering about the TV's power saving settings, they work great. The television has a sensor that can tell how bright or dark a room is and it corrects its picture brightness. The presettings for movie, game, or PC also are easy to navigate through and each input has a memory that will go back to what you set it on last. I find that standard works great with regular tv and movies. Although there is a "movie" pre setting, to me that particular setting looks just a little washed out, but maybe that's just personal preference.
There is one minor nitpick about this television that I wish it had. This television does not have picture in picture capability which surprised me a little bit seeing as how it has so many possible inputs for all the devices, I suppose because it is only a 32" they didn't think of adding the function.
All in all, the television is great, the price is great, and if you want a television for your bedroom or a small living room, then this television won't disappoint. |

if you're looking for a 32" lcd with 1080p then this one
will not upset you or your pocket. i shopped for at least
3 to 4 months for a 32" lcd and could not find anything that
would satisfy my budget. just when i made up my mind to buy
a samsung i compared both at the store and realized the sharp
was not only over $100 cheaper but the quality was better. i
also find this lcd to have goods looks too. goes great with
the fine wood bedroom set and wait until you hook up the ps3.
by the way i paid just under $630.00 |
Great TV, just be aware of shipping method and "OPC" feature

I've had the TV about 24 hours and love it so far. I ran into two hitches, but they're not deal-breakers. Especially if you know about them ahead of time -- so I'll share:
[1] A feature Sharp calls "OPC" will adjust the brightness of the screen based on ambient room light. From the factory it's turned on. Problem is, it caused my TiVo Comcast remote control not to work.
I spent an hour repositioning the TV and cable box, hooking up the old TV again, replacing remote batteries, and various other experiments, scratching my head. Finally had a lucky guess and discovered: With "OPC" off everything works great. It may also work fine if the TV and cable box aren't right next to each other, I don't know. Anyway, I hope this tip will save someone else a lot of confusion.
[2] Even though it's only 32 lbs., Amazon will ship it via CEVA, no choice. This may not be the seamless delivery experience you've come to expect from Amazon via UPS or FedEx. It wasn't for me: My order ended up with the correct address, but someone else's name and phone number! Which explained why it said "customer contacted to schedule delivery" but I hadn't been. A few phone calls later (to both CEVA and Amazon) it was straightened out. Not a huge hassle, and I even got the TV by the original estimated date. But it caught me off guard because usually Amazon is the gold standard for order fulfillment excellence.
My suggestion: Use the tracking number and keep checking the status, starting a a few days before it's supposed to arrive. If something doesn't look quite right, go ahead and call CEVA and if necessary Amazon. |

| Although using HDMI is the easiest setup- my new HD cable box wanted to use a 4 pronged cable; not even the red, yellow and white, but the setup with the Sharp took less than 3 minutes. I have an older DVD player that doesn't have HDMI and setup with the red, yellow, white cables worked the first time. The only note that might be minimally negative is a 10-15 seconds time period before the TV finds and shows the picture. |

| Just recieved this TV yesterday. Awesome 32 inch which goes great with my room. Hooked up the PS3 to it with a HDMI cable that allows 1080P HD, threw in the Transformers Blu-Ray and WOOOOOOOOOOOOWW!!! The colors, clarity, resoltuion, are like nothing I have ever seen before!!! Absolute steal of a deal for the price I paid (plus free shipping!!!!) Digital channels come in great as well (HD is great even though just a cable, 720p on channels like FOX,etc.) |
